3 Fun Holiday Craft Activities For You and Your Kids

Need some holiday cheer? Try these fun craft activities to bring the Christmas spirit into your home:
Sock Snowman
What you need:
-
- 1 large white ankle-length tube sock
-
- Buttons
-
- Construction paper—black and orange
-
- Package of dried beans or rice
-
- Pair of holiday socks from the Dollar store
-
- 1 Rubber band
-
- Scissors
-
- Tacky glue
- Twine—cut into a 20-inch piece.
Instructions:
-
- Cut the heel and ankle off the tube sock, and throw away.

- Fill the remaining part of the tube sock with dried beans or rice.

- Wrap the Rubber band around the top of the sock to secure it closed.

- For the snowman’s shirt, cut off the calf-part of one of the holiday socks and put it on the snowman with the cut edge on top. Roll it down as needed.

- Wrap the twine around the top of the sweater and make a bow.

- Glue buttons, if you wish, to the sweater.

- For the hat, cut off the toe-part (4 inches) of one of the holiday socks. Place it on your snowman’s head.

- Cut out eyes and a carrot nose from construction paper and glue to your snowman.
- Enjoy!
Glitter Snowflake
What you need:
-
- 2 toilet paper rolls
-
- Glitter
-
- Paper plate
-
- Pencil
-
- Ribbon or twine
-
- Ruler
-
- Scissors
- Tacky glue
Instructions:
-
- Flatten the toilet paper rolls.

- Using a ruler, mark out ½ inch sections and cut into strips. You should have nine oval pieces per toilet paper roll. Fold some of the strips in half.

- Create a snowflake design.
-
- Once you like your design, glue the pieces together. Allow time to dry.

- Pour a thin layer of glitter on a paper plate. Shake it gently to spread it out to be the size of your snowflake.

- Carefully, add a thin layer of glue to the top of your snowflake.

- Turn the snowflake over and dip in the glitter. Allow time to dry.

- If you’d like, add a ribbon or twine and hang your snowflake in your room, on a window, or on your Christmas tree.
- Enjoy!
Pom Pom Pinecone Ornament
What you need:
-
- Pinecone
-
- Small colorful pom poms from the dollar store
-
- Scissors
-
- Tacky glue
- Twine—cut into a 20-inch piece
Instructions:

- Place a glue dot on a pinecone scale and attach a pom pom. Do this all the way around until you’ve filled the entire pinecone. Allow time to dry.

- Make a knot in the middle of the twine. Glue the knot to the bottom of the pinecone. Allow time to dry.

- Make a bow with the two ends of the twine, and hang on your Christmas tree.
- Enjoy!
