Never Fear: FREE Visual Bible Verse Devotion

Have you ever felt alone? We have all been there. It is easy to be afraid and feel like no one is by our side at times.

But the truth is that we are never really alone. As God promises in Deuteronomy 31:8,

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Because of God, we have nothing to fear! No matter how dark your child’s room is at night, no matter how alone they may feel at school, God is always by our side! Encourage your kids with this uplifting message by checking out this FREE sample devotion from our newest title, Visual Bible Verse Devotions.

FREE Never Fear Devotion:

It was a few days before school was to start and Cassie and Dan were running around the playground outside around their school. Their mothers were inside the building filling out paperwork. “Cassie, aren’t you excited about exciting about starting school next week?”

Cassie said yes and then ran over to the swings. “I can swing higher than you can!” she challenged.

Dan laughed and started pumping his legs as hard as he could. “I don’t think so!” Together, Cassie and Dan started going higher and higher until their legs just got too tired of pumping.

Little girl on swing

As they both jumped off the swings at the same time, Cassie yelled, “Race you to the water fountain!” Off the two ran to get some water and to catch their breath.

After Cassie was done drinking, Dan surprised her by saying, “I’m in the Spanish immersion class, are you?”

Cassie suddenly felt sick inside. Cassie remembered her mom asking her, “You can be in the class that only speaks Spanish or you can choose the English-speaking class. It’s your choice Cassie.”

“I want to stay in my regular class,” Cassie told her mom.

It never crossed Cassie’s mind that her best friend Dan might choose the Spanish immersion class. Cassie suddenly felt alone and anything but excited about school starting. Dan noticed how quiet Cassie had become, “What’s wrong?” Dan asked.

“I didn’t know you and I would be in different classes. I’m not sure if I will have any friends in my class if you’re not there,” Cassie explained.

“Cassie! Remember what we learned in Sunday school? We are never alone. God is always with us! You won’t be alone.”

No Fear for Joshua

Read about it: Deuteronomy 31:1-8, Joshua 1:1-9

Think about it:

1.) Today’s verse is such a wonderful promise. It comes from our Bible story about Joshua. Joshua heard this promise twice: once from Moses, and once directly from God. This promise is not just for Joshua. It’s for everyone who is a member of God’s family! God tells us that he is with us… and even better… he gets there first. God knows what we will be facing even before anything happens. (good or bad.)

2.) How does it make you feel to know that God promises to always, always, always be with us? God never forgets about us.

3.) The second part of the verse is just as good as the first. God repeats the same promise using different words! God wants us to really understand that he loves us so much that he sticks close to us every day of our lives.

Little girl thinking

Do Something about It:

When something you planned suddenly changes and it makes you feel like you are all alone, remind yourself of God’s promise. We are never alone because God promises to go before us, stay with us, and never, ever forget about us.

Pray about it:

Dear God, help me to remember your promise whenever I feel alone. God, you said you would always stay close beside me; I need to always remember this promise. Please help me to remember that you will never forget about me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
